Driver William Mann and trainer Al Annunziata teamed up to win the featured $17,500 Dash For The 'G' Notes Final at the Meadowlands Saturday, September 16, and then the duo added three more victories on the card.
Iyq Yqr followed his 1:50.3 score in last week’s preliminary with a dominant win in the final, again going 1:50.3. Iyq Yqr, who paid $3.00 to win as the 1-2 public choice, grabbed the lead at the half and sailed home, finishing one-and-three-quarter lengths in front of stablemate RU Ready To Rock.
Mann and Annunziata scored their second win in the $15,000 co-featured conditioned pace with Chevals Clivesdale, who paced home in :25.3 to get up by one-and-aquarter lengths over Super Imposed N in 1:50.1, paying $14.00.
The pair's other victories came with Our Els Dream N, paying $29.40 in his 1:51.1 victory, and Rock To Glory, a $10.40 winner in 1:51.1.
All-source handle on the 12-race card totaled $1,530,328.
Thoroughbred racing returns to the Meadowlands Friday, September 22 with a first race post time of 7 p.m. During September, the thoroughbreds will also race on the 23rd, 29th and 30th. In addition, they will race every Saturday during October. Harness racing comes back on Saturday, November 4 and every Saturday during November. Post time is 7:15 p.m.
