On Monday, September 10, legislators in New Jersey made an amendment to a bill which would see beach racing contested in Atlantic City. The amendment came after a conditional veto on the piece of legislation by Governor Chris Christie.

As a report by pressofatlanticcity.com explains, on Monday the State Assembly dropped a steeplechase provision from the bill after Gov. Christie had rejected it.

The article states that the item is expected to be voted on Thursday in the Senate, and that Senator Jim Whelan believes that it is likely to pass.
