Some of the finest pacers in Atlantic Canada will show down on Saturday, Sept. 2 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. with the $3,800 Preferred 1 Pace hitting the track in Race 13. Standardbred Canada presents National Caretaker Appreciation Day with prizes from Red Shores, PEI Harness Racing Industry Association, PEI Standardbred Horse Owners Association and complimentary win photos from track photographer Gail MacDonald and Ronota Baglole.

Roll Em comes back to action after a fourth-place finish in the $100,000 Atlantic Lottery Gold Cup and Saucer in August. Marc Campbell trains and drives the 24-time winner, the morning line favourite from post six

Twin B Tuffenuff was another Gold Cup and Saucer finalist and has post five with Gilles Barrieau back in the seat for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown. The son of Rock N Roll Heaven currently sits at 30 lifetime victories including a 1:51.2 score three starts back in Charlottetown.

Former Gold Cup and Saucer winner Time To Dance has post four with Ken Murphy getting the catch driving call for trainer Campbell.

The Preferred field also includes Bettim Again (Mark Bradley), Mantario (Brodie MacPhee), JK Last Chance (Kenny Arsenault) and No Plan Intended (David Dowling).

The Post Time Picks select Roll Em to get it all: “Roll Em has put together an excellent year and raced very well in the Gold Cup trial and final. Draws post six but it doesn’t seem to bother him, and he’s won from here before so it could happen again tonight.”
