Another Win For Snowmoon

On Saturday, August 29, Eldorado Scioto Downs hosted the fourth Buckeye Stallion Series leg for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings.

The program featured four divisions, each of which carried a purse of $17,500. Snowmoon picked up his third BSS win of the year, while Ubuntu scored for his second series win.

Snowmoon, who is a gelded son of Mr Wiggles, left from Post 5 and went wire to wire to win by one length for Tyler Smith and owner/trainer Jessica Smith in 1:53.3. Elite Machine (who was driven by Brady Brown) finished second, while Mingo Joel (Jeremy Smith) finished third. Snowmoon is now 7 of 12 this season.

Ubuntu, with driver Dan Noble for trainer Christi Noble, picked up his second win of the series, as he went right to the top from Post 1 to win by a nose over the fast-closing Wigglemejigglme (Chris Page). Aim For Glory (Brett Miller) finished third. Ubuntu, who is a gelded son of Pet Rock that is owned by Norman Rae Racing, picked up his sixth win in 11 starts this season.

Epic Ace came home the fastest with a 1:51.4 effort with Chris Page for trainer Mike Polhamus and owners Constance Polhamus, Matthew Newberry, and Pamela Horvath. The Western Vintage-Golden Ace gelding recorded his first win of the season, as he won by four lengths over Danearys Dream (Dan Noble). Isowantapetrock (Dexter Dunn) finished third.

Page recorded his second driving win of the night with Opportune Hanover. Page guided the Ron Burke-trained Dragon Again gelding to his first BSS win in 1:53.4. Opportune Hanover is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and J&T Silva-Purnel & Libby. Bargain Shopper (Dan Noble) finished second, while My Name Is Harry finished third for Austin Hanners.
