Shock The Rock held on to win the feature race in a four-horse photo finish on Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Driver-trainer Mark McKinnon mapped out the winning trip for owner Bethany MacLeod of Charlottetown laying down fractions of 28.1, 58 and 1:27.3. Judges needed a photo finish to determine Van Zant for second, who was flying late in the stretch for Ron Matheson, while Rambaranonbroadway, under the command of Jason Hughes, was edged out for third. The time of the mile was 1:57.4.

After starting the season winless in 18 starts, Shock The Rock now has two wins in seven starts since entering the McKinnon barn.

Whats It All About won the evening's trot class in 2:02.1 for driver Danny MacDonald. BJ High Meadow finished second with Tymal Tyme completing the triactor.

Live harness racing returns Saturday to Charlottetown, with first race post time at 7:00 p.m.
