It was a night of make-up races at Cornerstone Raceway in Yorkton Raceway Sunday, catching up another night lost to rain earlier this race season

.

The card included eight races, and seven races into the night, seven different drivers had made it to the winner’s circle. The list included Brad LeDrew who captured the night’s feature race in the seventh sponsored by Flaman Sales and Rentals.

LeDrew took Maximus Pass to the win over Thief On The Run and Leonard Hill, and Poor Boy Hall with Brian Gray in the bike. The first thing LeDrew did when asked about the race was to thank Flaman Sales and Rentals for supporting the sport with a race sponsorship. For the race itself, LeDrew said, “Maximus Pass, he’s a solid old horse,” adding at 10-years-old, he’s a familiar competitor on the track. “He’s a fan favourite. Everybody likes seeing him win,” he said.

LeDrew said it was a night where “it seemed every race was tight,” and in the seventh he said he managed to “come out with the win.” LeDrew would become the only double win driver of the night, going back-to-back with a win in the eighth, winning with Bigtime Jackpot, who nosed out O JS Boy and Terry Kaufman in second and Motoboatenbrando and Glenn LeDrew in third. It was another one of the close races LeDrew was talking about. “Everything happened so fast,” he said, noting there was some jostling off the start which allowed him to get good position coming from his trailing position as the seventh horse in the field. From their Bigtime Jackpot responded well.

“He was really good tonight,” said LeDrew, although he added “coming off the last turn I wasn’t so sure I was going to be the winner.” Going down the stretch LeDrew said he had pressure from Kaufman on the inside and his brother on the outside, but he managed to hold off their charge for the win.
