Boyd Goes From Bike To Mic

Driver Nick Boyd made his debut in the announcer's booth as the From Bike To Mic guest announcer series continued on Fun & Frivolity Friday Night at Grand River Raceway.

Boyd called a field of eight pacers in race seven, with a dash of panache in the stretch as pacesetter Big Phil and “Lieutenant Dan” Clements hung on to finish a length over Twang Twang (Bob McClure) and Extreme Justice (Rob Sparling Jr.). The 1:57 mile was the colt’s second win from nine starts for owner James Carr of Hamilton, Ont. and trainer Chad Milner.

Nursing bronchitis, Boyd trekked to Grand River after a full afternoon at Woodstock Raceway to make his race calling debut.

In addition to training and driving a stable of his own, Boyd is the Operations Manager at Campbellville Training Centre and an occasional TV star, having appeared on W. Brett Wilson’s new show Risky Business on the Slice Network last September.
