Ladycorona, who just missed tying the track record for three-year-old pacing fillies in her last start, returns to headline the second round of the Breeders Trophy Series at Hippodrome 3R on Sunday (July 30).

There are four $7,500 divisions of the series with two races for both the three-year-old pacing fillies and colts. After three preliminary rounds, the top eight point earners will compete in $65,000 finals on Sunday, Sept. 10.

Ladycorona headlines the 10th race, the second division of the series for the fillies. The daughter of Bettors Delight starts from post two for driver Pascal Berube.

It was just two weeks ago that the Yves Tessier trainee came first-over in the series and sped her way to a lifetime best 1:55.2 record. Her clocking was just one-fifth of a second from tying the track record for her age, sex and gait.

Her main competition will be YS Sensationalcity (post one), who was second to Ladycorona. Also in the field is return winner Senorita I Am (post seven), who won in a lifetime best 1:58.1 for driver Francis Picard.

The first division for the fillies is the fifth race where last year’s two-year-old Quebec champion, Pocahontas Du Lac is the 4-5 betting favourite for driver Pierre-Luc Roy. Bred and co-owned by Roy’s brother, driving sensation Louis-Philippe Roy, Pocahontas Du Lac is still winless in eight starts this season, finishing third against Ladycorona last time out.

Other contenders include Make Bet SBG (post two) and Irish Mary (post five).

The pacing colts and geldings get started in the series in the third race with Fantome En Joie the wagering favorite from post five for driver Stephane Brosseau. The son of Shadow Play has won four of his six starts this year, the fastest was last week in an overnight event when he sped away from the field to win in a romp by 6-3/4 lengths in 1:56.3.

Little Diamond (post four), Bets Beach (post three) and Kansas Panic (post one) look to have the best chances to play spoiler for a fifth win.

The seventh race is the second division for the colts and featured are Attitude, who starts from post two for driver Stephane Brosseau and takes on Kingston Panic (post three) and YS Cheddar Wheel (post four).

First race post time is 12 noon for the 11-race program. For a free race program, visit hippodrome3r.ca. For entries, click the following link: Sunday Entries - Hippodrome 3R.
