Sifroi Melanson and his Ultimate Stable enjoyed a perfect day on Saturday (July 27) at Exhibition Park Raceway, winning with all three of his entrants.
Melanson's natural hat-trick started in the fourth race as Ultimatelyhandsome was a wire-to-wire winner by more than six lengths in the co-featured $1,500 Winners Over Pace. Kyle Mason piloted the seven-year-old Western Paradise to his second straight score.
The win parade continued for Melanson in the fifth race with 11-1 shot Instant Shadow, a gate-to-wire winner by more than 10 lengths for driver Todd Trites in a time of 1:59.3. Robert Kyle of Calhoun, N.B. co-owns with the Ultimate Stable. Melanson's third winner came courtesy Mason and Ultimate Flyingnun in the sixth race, a winner in 2:01 after an overland path to the winner's circle.
A resident of Greater Lakeburn, N.B., Melanson now sports 253 lifetime wins and more than $501,000 in career earnings.
The second $1,500 Winners Over Pace was captured by favoured Ramblinglily, a winner at every call for driver Todd Trites and trainer Allan Jones in a time of . Jones co-owns the 69-time winner along with Normand Leger of Shediac, N.B. Now nine, Ramblinglily (Articulator - Crafty Jewel) is approaching $200,000 in lifetime earnings.
