Speaking on behalf of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Jennifer Lawlor has gone on the record as saying that both Red Shores at Summerside Raceway and Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park have exceeded expectations over the past year

.

"Red Shores, both facilities, actually had really great performances last year which was better than projected," Lawlor has been quoted as saying in an article by The Journal Pioneer. "With the two facilities combined, we had $1.4 million of gross that actually exceeded expectations for last year."

The report states that the ALC raked in $646.5 in ticket sales over the past year, which is an increase of roughly $54 million.

Lawlor went on to say, "In November 2010 we took over the reins of being the manager of harness racing on P.E.I. So, that would have had a favourable effect. We also experienced last year a full year of operation at Summerside. Before that it was just newly opened so we didn't have a full year in the previous fiscal year. Year over year we continue to do really well at both facilities. That's just a testament to our ability to be more efficient, continuing to improve to make sure that the people who visit our facilities have a very great experience."
