Cruisinart Returns To Northside A Winner

Cruisinart kept his Northside Downs win streak in tact with another top effort in the $1,000 Winners Over Pace on Saturday in North Sydney, NS

.

Cruisinart finished sixth in his Governor’s Plate elimination last Sunday at Summerside Raceway, but prior to that start he had scored back-to-back wins in Northside’s top pacing class.

On Saturday afternoon, driver Ryan Campbell fired Cruisinart to the lead from Post 6 and carved out fractions of :28.4, :59.4 and 1:29.2 en route to a 1:58.1 victory. The popular son of Real Artist-Yieldtotheprincess held off the pocket-sitter, Shifty Shadow and trainer-driver Edgard Jacobs, by half a length while Nu Xample and Joseph Campbell finished one and three-quarter lengths behind in third.

Kenneth Rich trains the seven-year-old gelding, who has won four times in nine starts this year earning $2,557 for owner Johnny Heffernan of Reserve Mines, NS. Lifetime, Cruisinart has made 21 trips to the winner's circle and has banked $84,178.
