Run On Luck Upsets Mares Preferred

New Jersey ship-in Run On Luck made her Mohawk debut a winning one after being parked to the half over a sloppy track in the $32,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace Friday night

Four Starzz Meliss (Luc Ouellette) grabbed the early lead and put up a :27.1 first quarter with Post 7 starter Run On Luck and Mark MacDonald parked out in fifth and driving on. The Casie Coleman pupil looked the leader in the eye at the :55.4 half and cleared shortly after, opening up two lengths on the field. She raced past three-quarters in 1:23.3 and splashed home in 1:51.4 for the 3-1/4 length victory. Blissful Smile (Mike Saftic) and A Ps Money Maker (Rick Zeron) came on for second and third.

Run On Luck paid $20.00 to win as the 9-1 fifth choice. The seven-year-old daughter of Northern Luck-Yarmila has won six of her 17 starts this year banking $105,040 for Coleman, J Robert Darrow of Dublin, Ohio and Ron Broadstone of Columbus, Ohio.
