Timberline Court showed no mercy to the competition on Monday at Alberta Downs, and he showed no mercy to the teletimer, as well

.

Trainer/driver Gerry Hudon blasted to the top with the six-year-old son of With Held-Bon Temps, and he ripped through fractions of :27.4, :56.1 and 1:23.3 before storming home in a :28-second clip en route to stopping the clock in 1:51.3 – a new record for older pacing geldings. The performance shaved four-fifths of a second off Armbro Dublin’s former mark of 1:52.1.

Timberline Court, who was sent off as the 1-5 favourite, held on to win by three-quarters of a length over KG Explorer, with Wrangler Hitech taking home the show dough.

Hudon shares ownership on the homebred with Lynn Kowalevsky of Airdrie, AB, and together they’ve watched the pacer rack up 21 lifetime wins while banking $265,544 along the way.

Earlier on the card trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt went gate-to-wire with Trust The Artist in the $8,800 Open Pace. The seven-year-old son of Real Artist-Abreachoftrust chopped out sensible panels of 29, :58.3 and 1:26.2 before storming home in :27.1 to hold on for the neck decision over Neal Diamonique in 1:53.3. Clintons Escape grabbed the third-place cheque.

Sent off as the 4-5 choice in the five-horse affair, Trust The Artist won for the 37th time in his career while pushing his lifetime cash stash to $470,034 for Hoerdt and partners Blair Corbeil and Mike McAllister of Beaumont, AB.
