Two-year-old pacing fillies made their debut in the Ontario Sires Stakes program on Sunday evening at Flamboro Downs in three $40,000 Gold eliminations

.

First time starters Regal Attitude and Class Of O Nine were also first time winners in the opening eliminations while Ys Gold Star kept her two-race record perfect in winning the final elimination.

With Scott Zeron in the bike for trainer Mark Etsell, Regal Attitude swept to command en route to the :28.2 first quarter mark in the first elimination and could not be caught once she cleared. She led the way past the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:28 before cruising home for the 1:57.1 victory. Pocket-sitter Breezin On Bye (Randy Waples) finished one and a half lengths behind in second and Sauble Claire (Trevor Henry) followed in third.

The 8-1 fifth choice paid $18.90 to win. Regal Attitude was making her career debut off 1:58.2 qualifying effort at Mohawk Racetrack on June 11. The daughter of Stonebridge Regal-Laagable is owned by David Snowden of Bowmanville, Ont.

In the second elimination, Bob McIntosh trainee Class Of O Nine and driver Randy Waples sat third before launching their attack at three-quarters.

Inside starter Tymal Trilogy (Sylvain Filion), Lucky Boot Cam (Doug McNair) and favourite Class Of O Nine fired off the gate and were three-deep before settling in line by the :28.1 opening quarter mark. Tymal Trilogy led the field to the half in :58.1 and three-quarters in 1:27.4. At that point, Class Of O Nine made the winning move and took over at the top of the lane. Her :28.2 final frame kept late closer Legal Entity (Luc Ouellette) at bay for the one and a quarter length victory in 1:56.2. Tymal Trilogy finished third.

Class Of O Nine paid $3.30 to win. The Camluck-Skippin School miss is owned and bred by Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. of Windsor and Dwight Stacey of Mitchell, Ont. She prepped for her OSS debut with a 1:56.3 qualifying effort on June 17 at Mohawk.

Driven by Sylvain Filion, favourite Ys Gold Star got away fifth in her elimination and waited until she picked up some cover at the third quarter mark before making her move.

St Lads Hottie (Wayne Henry) led the way past panels of :29.3, :59 and 1:28 before coming under attack. Flight Delay (Jody Jamieson) collared he pacesetter in the stretch, but Ys Gold Star kicked home in :28.3 off her back to prevail by one and a quarter length in 1:57.1 for trainer Daniel Martin. Flight Delay settled for second while Spicy Celine Dion (Luc Ouellette) came on for third over St Lads Hottie.

Ys Gold Star paid $3.20 for the victory. The daughter of Armbro Deuce-Kikin Up Dirt, purchased for $13,000 at the Lexington Select Yearling Sale by Yves Sarrazin of La Presentation, Que., won her June 11 qualifier in 2:00.1 at Mohawk and followed up that winning performance with another in a two-year-old conditioner on June 20, winning in 1:55.1.
