Odds-on choice Cold Creek Guerero uncorked the faster mile of the two $8,700 Prospect Series divisions for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Sunday night (June 25) at Georgian Downs.

Driver J Harris hustled Cold Creek Guerero to the point from post five and clicked a :27 first quarter before slowing to a :57 half. The gelded son of Dali then darted up the backside to breeze by three-quarters in 1:24.2 and rolled home to a 1-1/4-length win in 1:52.2 chased by Crazy World, who ground first over to take second. Dows Up finished third and pocket-sitter It Takes Two took fourth.

Murray Brethour trains Cold Creek Guerero, a four-time winner from 11 starts and earner of $26,000, for owner Cold Creek Standardbred. He paid $2.80 to win.

Also sent off as an odds-on favourite, Gentleonmymind delivered in the other Prospect Series division with a 1:54.2 mile. The gelding by Shadow Play brushed from sixth to the lead after a :27.3 first quarter to clock by a :56.4 half, rolled to three-quarters in 1:25 and wrapped the mile 1-1/2 lengths better than pocket-sitter Xtra Cheese. Parsons, who pushed first over to the half and through the mile, settled for third and Pebble Beach Pro grabbed fourth.

Luc Ouellette owns Gentleonmymind, who is trained by Anita Ouellette. He won his third race from 13 starts and has now earned $41,680. Gentleonmymind paid $2.20 to win.
