The Meadville Sertoma Club hosted three-year-olds on Sunday in Pennsylvania Sire Stake racing at the Crawford County Fairgrounds.

Bob And Bobby, a gelded son of Andover Hall, opened the card with a victory in a $5,857 three-year-old colt trotting division. Steve Schoeffel drove the winner to a 2:06.4 win for owner Susan Daugherty and trainer Bill Daugherty.

In the second division, Redder Than Red was a winner for the Dunn Stable, trainer Boots Dunn, and driver Brian Zendt. The SJs Caviar gelding trotted his mile in 2:05.4.

Three groups of filly trotters were next to the track, with victories earned by Erin Kristen (Chip Chip Hooray), Desired Outcome (Tom Ridge) and RT USS Chilton (RT Giant).

Erin Kristen, owned by Bill Kirwan and trained by John McMullen, picked up the win in the first division in 2:11.3. Wilbur Yoder was the winning driver. Desired Outcome gave the Dunn/Zendt pairing their second win of the day, this one in 2:09.2. RT USS Chilton, owned by the Brocious Racing Stable, was a 2:12.2 winner for trainer-driver Bobby Rougeaux.

Sophomore colt pacers were up next, and Roger Hammer captured two of the three divisions, with Nate Breeze and Nucular Enemy, both sons of Nuclear Breeze. Nate Breeze paced in 2:06 while Nucular Enemy won in 2:03.

Schoeffel then won his second race of the day in the final colt pacing division as Hershey Please held on for a narrow win, which featured five horses all within a length at the wire. Hershey Please, by I Am A Fool, won in 2:05 for owners Steve Lander and Kathy Schoeffel. Steve Schoeffel trains the gelding.

Schoeffel picked up his third driving win – and second training win – in the next race as Wanna Go Fast scored in 2:04.2. Brooke Schoeffel and Trish Adams own the Yankee Cruiser filly, now a winner in three of six races on the year.

In the second division, the photo finish camera could not separate the top two horses at the wire as Cin Cardle and Argument Hanover finished in a dead-heat in 2:06.4. Cin Cardle, owned by Bob Key and trained by Mike Gillock, led throughout the mile, but bore out slightly in the stretch allowing Argument Hanover, owned and trained by Ron Lineweaver, to slip up the inside. The two drivers sharing the dead-heat were Brady Brown, behind Cin Cardle, and Jim Dodson, behind Argument Hanover.

Brown and Gillock teamed for another win in the final heat of the day as Scotts Terror held on by a nose to win in 2:08.4. Scotts Terror, a daughter of Western Terror, is owned by Gillock in partnership with Tom Haughton.

Racing on the PA Fair Circuit next moves to Butler, Pennsylvania for the first full fair of the season. Racing will commence at 10 a.m. on Thursday, the first of three days of action.
