Fans that took in the Sunday matinee at Hippodrome 3R were treated to a track record-setting performance by Sans Frontiere, who took more than a second off the previous standard of 1:56 set by Kami on September 5, 2005.

Sans Frontiere covered the half-miler in 1:54.3 for trainer/driver Marie Claude Auger. The six-year-old daughter of House Of Fun-G Js Bayama rocketed to the lead from the pole position and successfully sliced out splits of :26.4, :56.2 and 1:25.1 before using a :29.2 closing panel to win by a head over Stonebridge Wish. Dont Rustle My Luck was third.

Denise Auger of Trois-Rivieres, QC bred and owns the 31-time winner who picked up her third win in her last four outings. The mare has potted more than $6,000 this season, and she’s just $1,378 shy of reaching $200,000 in lifetime earnings.
