Conditioner Kelly Crump's barn came into the Saturday (June 11) card at Century Downs hot, winning three of the seven races on the afternoon.
The first win for Crump came in the second race with a coast-to-coast score by Blue Star Mystic ($4.60). Crump returned in the following race to win with an off-the-pace effort by Salary ($6) and completed the hat trick in the penultimate race on the card with favourite Firenado ($3.90).
In his second full season as a trainer, Crump is setting career-best numbers, approaching $100,000 in purse earnings with 17 wins from 87 starts. At Century Downs, Crump now sits in third in the standings with 12 wins on the season, tied with Rod Starkewski, Dave Kelly and Rod Hennessy.
