Handicappers that like playing pedigrees were given a golden opportunity to strike it rich at Mohawk Racetrack on Thursday when Visible Gold, a half brother to Won The West (1:47 - $3.536,344), broke his maiden at odds of 8-1

.

Visible Gold, out of the Dragons Lair mare, Gabrielle, rallied first over en route to winning in 1:53.4 for the tandem of driver Randy Waples and trainer Harry Poulton in the $17,000 conditioned event.

The colt, who was a $65,000 purchase from the 2009 Harrisburg Yearling Sale, is owned by Craig Wilson and Kirk McKinnon of Ontario along with Gord Rumpel of Alberta.
