The winning started early during Sunday’s program at Flamboro Downs for driver Mark MacDonald, who kept the pedal to the metal throughout the 11-race card.

MacDonald kicked things off with a 1:56.3 triumph in the opener behind the Pete Marostega trainee, Hidden Galaxy, and he wound up tacking on four more wins for good measure.

The Blake MacIntosh-trained R Devilish Dude’s 1:59.3 score in Race 2 came compliments of a trip mapped out by MacDonald, as was the case for the Pete Marostega-trained B B Windfall in Race 5. The mare stopped the clock in 1:56.4 en route to completing MacDonald’s hat trick.

The wins kept coming, however, for the Cambridge, ON resident who rallied Star Secrets to a 1:58.3 triumph in Race 6 for trainer Kris Di Cenzo. The five-bagger was completed by the Garry Merner-trained Lucky Asset in Race 10. The gelding used his off-the-pace skills to win in 1:54.

The productive night helped the two-time O’Brien Award-winning reinsman push his yearly win total to 163 while his lifetime count rose to 4,529.
