Caballion and driver Björn Goop captured Sunday’s Copenhagen Cup at Charlottenlund Travbane in Denmark.

The eight-year-old Kesaco Phedo - Lady Brick trotter is trained by Franck Leblanc and owned by Caballion AB and T Mårtensson Invest AB.

Mr Picolit fired to command off the gate before Mosaique Face worked his way to the top after the first turn. However, Mosaique Face broke stride soon after clearing, handing the leading role back to last year's winner.

But Uncle Peter was on the move and quickly swept around Mr Picolit. He continued to lead the field while Caballion moved up on the outside with Magic Tonight second over and Solvato three-wide.

Caballion began to edge by Uncle Peter around the final turn and Goop managed to keep the rough-gaited trotter on point down the lane to secure the victory in the 1-1/4 mile race.

Orali closed for second while Magic Tonight, bred by Canadians Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld, finished third. Solvato was fourth.

Uncle Peter, who is co-owned by Canadians Jim and John Fielding, finished fifth in his European debut. Jimmy Takter trains the Elitlopp-bound trotter while his brother Johnny subbed in as driver for an injured Dave Miller.

Rounding out the field were Kashs Cantab, Mr Picolit, Harry Haythrow, Mosaique Face and Beckman.
