Small Ban Lifted

It has been reported that after being threatened with legal action, the Invercargill Harness Racing Club has lifted its ban on Down Under trainer Geoff Small

.

An article on nzherald.co.nz states that IHRC President Tom Kilkelly -- who is also a trainer -- has lifted the ban after receiving a letter from Small's lawyer stating that the matter could be brought before the High Court.

According to a report, the letter outlined the fact that Kilkelly had a financial interest in four horses that lined up in the same races for which Small-trained horses had been nominated. The letter insinuates that Kilkelly benefited from the Small exclusion.

"I can assure you my ban on not accepting nominations was never for me to receive an unfair advantage," Kilkelly was quoted as saying.
