The win streak is now six-in-a-row and counting for the Frank Catalfamo-trained Pilgrims Toner, who rolled to a 1:50 score in Saturday evening’s $32,000 Invitational Pace at the Meadowlands Racetrack

.

Andy Miller picked up the catch-drive behind the white-hot six-year-old son of The Panderosa, who found himself parked alongside Share The Delight at the quarter pole in :27.1 before working his way to the top. Pilgrims Toner hit the half :54.2 before coming under pressure around the final turn by Share The Delight. Those two exchanged punches to the three-quarter pole in 1:22.3, but Pilgrims Toner proved be too much to handle. He kicked home in :27.2 to win by a neck over a hard-closing Blatantly Good. Share The Delight held on for third prize.

The victory was the fourth consecutive score in the Invitational Pace for Pilgrims Toner, who has been one of the brightest stars of the season in New Jersey. He has put together a 7-for-14 record this year while banking in excess of $113,000 in the process.

Catalfamo shares ownership on the 22-time winner with fellow New Jerseyians Joseph Spezio, Patrick Daley and Robert Mills. The pacer has earned more than $317,000 in his career.
