Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has announced that an electric vehicle charging station by AddÉnergie is now operational at Woodbine Racetrack.

Woodbine will be the first location in Ontario to install AddÉnergie’s new Curbside EV chargers (Level 2). These impressive EV stations can charge two vehicles simultaneously.

“AddÉnergie is proud to announce the installation of these new charging stations at Woodbine Racetrack,” said Louis Tremblay, AddÉnergie's CEO. “They are almost 12 feet tall and are visible from a distance, which will attract much desired attention!”

The designated spaces for electric vehicle charging are located in Lot G off of the East side of the grandstand.

The charging station at Woodbine is a part of the VERnetwork, the largest network of charging stations in the country, with more than 2,000 stations across Canada.

Woodbine Entertainment Group strives to stay on the leading edge by investigating and investing in new and innovative technologies throughout its operations aimed at reducing its environmental foot print and to set the standard for the horse racing industry.

“Joining this program is another way in which we can help contribute to increasing the quality of life within our communities and to help make a positive change,” said Jessica Buckley, WEG's Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Community Relations.

This was all made possible with the support from Partners in Project Green, a growing community of businesses that work together to green their operations, of which WEG is a founding partner and Ambassador. WEG is one of 15 organizations that have installed 80 networked charging ports across the Greater Toronto Area, marking the most recent contribution to Partners in Project Green’s Open EV Network Project.
