The Horseplayers Association of North America (HANA) recruited handicappers to take part in a wagering experiment Tuesday at Will Rogers Downs
, and early reports indicate there was close to a 100% increase in pool size for the designated race.
HANA has outlined the individual pool increases from the race in which the experiment was conducted. Here’s the bottom line:
Mutuel Pool: +76%
Exacta Pool: +147%
Quinella Pool: +62%
Trifecta Pool: +92%
Superfecta Pool: +60%
Overall Pool Bump: ($49,860 versus $25,465): +96%
HANA hopes this could ultimately lead to the fans of the sport having more of an influence on some of the decisions that are made in the racing industry.
