In speaking of the late William Rowe, former Windsor Raceway VP of Operations Joe McGorisk has gone on the record as saying, "I've worked in racing for 50 years in Michigan and here and there was never a gentleman I had more respect for."

McGorisk's comments come via a story by The Windsor Star in regard to Rowe's passing.

"He had a passion for racing and it reflected itself in how and what he did with the racetrack," McGorisk was quoted as saying.

Rowe, one of Ontario's preeminent racing figures both on and off the track in the later part of the 20th century, passed away during the evening hours of Sunday, March 20 at the age of 88.

Visitation for Rowe is set for Friday, March 25, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Skwarchuk Funeral Home, 30 Simcoe Rd., Bradford, Ont., 1-800-209-4803, with the funeral to follow on Saturday, March 26, Newton Robinson United Church, Hwy 27 and 10th Sideroad, at 11:00 a.m.
