James MacDonald and the Meg Crone trainee got away fifth from post 10, maintaining their pylon position through the opening panel in :25.4 and half in :55.1. Continuing along the rail, Soaring Now sat fourth through the three-quarters in 1:24.1 and moved into third going into the final turn. Down the stretch, Soaring Now sprinted home.
