On the heels of what could be termed a double-triple on Friday night, Alberta's Gerry Hudon again guided home three winners from his own barn during Northlands Park's Sunday card of harness racing.
Hudon's day started off the right way with a front-end score aboard Perfect Summer. The four-year-old As Promised - Napa Hanover mare was a 1:59.1 winner for Hudon and B.C.'s Bill Boden. Four races later, Outlaw Warlock (As Promised - Pleased As Punch) posted a 19-1 upset in 2:00.2 for those same connections in a $4,000 claiming event, and Hudon completed the three-bagger two races later with Lynn Kowalevsky & Monica Hudon's Shes A Jewel (Allamerican Ingot - Breathless Charm), who won her $6,000 claiming tag test in 1:59.
When all was said and done for the day, Hudon's win total climbed to four after guiding Lance Ward-trainee Clear Blue to victory in Race 4.
The Edmonton-based Hudon is off to a sizzling start in 2010, winning eight of 21 as a driver and seven of 17 as a trainer.
