Safe From Terror captured her second Fillies & Mares Open Pace in the last three weeks after besting American Girl and Igottafeelinfran in Friday’s feature at Miami Valley Raceway.
American Girl (Trace Tetrick) pushed Safe From Terror and driver Chris Page until just past the :27 quarter mile marker, but it wasn’t enough to keep the talented five-year-old daughter of Western Terror from cruising through subsequent middle clockings of :56.3 and 1:24.4 before completing the mile with a closing :28.1 panel for an open lengths tally in 1:53.
Winchester Baye Acres LLC owns Safe From Terror. She is trained by Mike Conklin. It was her 27th lifetime victory, 15 in the past season and a half, and increased her career bounty to $674,467.
Both Kayne Kauffman and Trace Tetrick notched three-win “hat tricks” on the program, while Aaron Merriman and Randy Tharps scored driving doubles.
