Yank My Halo bided his time on the pylons throughout the featured $21,000 conditioned trot on Thursday, Feb. 29 at Woodbine Mohawk Park before making a move in the stretch to win in upset fashion.

Sylvain Filion and the Roger Mayotte student left from the center of the wings, landing in second through the first turn and into the opening panel in :27.4. As Double Dippin (Louis-Philippe Roy) led the field to the half in :57.4, Kruise On Dover (Doug McNair) pulled first over on the attack. Kruise On Dover cleared and Yank My Halo maintained pylon position. Msfrannie (Brett MacDonald) made the next move to the outside, followed by favoured Mercutio (Tyler Jones). At the three-quarters in 1:26.4, Yank My Halo was shuffled back to fifth, but he found room in the middle of the stretch to maneuver a half-length victory in 1:55.2. Kruise On Dover finished second and Collector S (James MacDonald) completed the triactor.

Yank My Halo is owned by Just In Time Stable, Ben Mudry and R A W Equine Inc. The four-year-old gelded son of Archangel-Sugarcane Yankee won his first race in five starts this year and fourth race from 37 career starts. He moved his career bankroll to $76,810.

As the 8-1 upset victor, Yank My Halo returned $17 to win.
