Larry Langan, president of the Board of Directors for REACH Huron (Regional Equine & Agricultural Centre of Huron Inc.) is pleased to announce that a candidate has been secured to take over the executive leadership of the state-of-the-art REACH Huron facility located in Clinton, Ontario.

Commenting on behalf of the board, Langan said, “The board of directors for the REACH centre [is] pleased to welcome Jeff Marshall into the executive director's role. He brings a great deal of business experience and a proven track record for building relationships into this new role. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to build on the strong foundations that are in place. This is an exciting time of transition for our organization.”

Marshall will be responsible for leading the facility through Phase II works and continued successful development as a not-for-profit charitable corporation.

REACH Huron facilities were built to advance the regional economy by proactively supporting core industries --- namely agriculture with a focus on the equine sector. As the backbone of the regional economy, these industries support local quality of life. REACH Huron’s 35-acre, 65,000-square-foot training and event facilities act as a 'motel for education and recreation,' bringing over 30,000 people to date to the local area to study, compete, train and play. Commencing on March 1, 2012, Marshall will guide the organization in continued pursuit of this mission.

Speaking of his appointment to executive director, Marshall noted that he is “very excited to be a part of REACH Huron” and that he is “looking forward to working with the community, local Council, Board Chair Larry Langan and the whole Board.” A strong believer in the power of partnerships, Marshall stated that, “there’s a lot of work to be done, but I know that with everyone working together we can make REACH a great success.”

Jeff Marshall grew up in the former Blanshard Township and graduated from the University of Western Ontario. He’s worked for agri-business John Deere Canada and Alfa Laval Agri, as well as the Canadian Automobile Association. Most recently, Marshall has been doing marketing and government relations consulting. He lives in Mitchell with his wife, Rita, and their sons.
