Modern Legend Back To Winning Ways

Modern Legend scored his first victory since returning to the races in December following a nine-month absence with a 1:51.4 effort in the $38,000 Preferred Pace at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday.

Driven by Jack Moiseyev, Modern Legend advanced first over from fourth down the backstretch and took over command from the leading Clic K (Randy Waples) in the stretch en route to the one length victory. High Def Z Tam (Billy Davis Jr.) and In Commando (Scott Zeron) rallied home off cover to finish second and third, respectively.

Modern Legend paid $5.20 to win as the 8-5 favourite.

The four-year-old son of Modern Art, who swept the Snowshoe and Cam Fella series at the beginning of the year, is now seven-for-eight in 2012. The homebred gelding with a $231,435 career bankroll is owned by trainer Dave Drew (as Dave Drew Associates Inc.).
