Yankee Nola made a powerful first-over move that put away a distinguished field and carried her to victory in Tuesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at

The Meadows.

Shifting to The Meadows after performing regularly at Yonkers, Yankee Nola got away third for Brett Miller before launching her decisive brush down the backside. She drew off steadily to score by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:56.4. Victory Is Coming saw her three-race winning streak snapped but raced well from Post 9 for second while Rose Run Keepsake was a rallying third.

Tyler Raymer trains and owns Yankee Nola, an eight-year-old daughter of SJs Photo-Nila Domarr, who now boasts $449,104 in lifetime earnings. It was one of four wins on the 15-race card for Miller.
