Encore Seelster romped to a two and a quarter length victory in the $15,000 Preferred 2 Pace at Georgian Downs providing driver Billy Davis, Jr. with one of his many encore winning performances during the 11-race Wednesday night card of harness racing

.

Davis Jr. and the pocket-sitting four-year-old gelding swept to command past the :28.1 opening quarter and left their five foes chasing them all the way home in the 10th race feature. The duo raced past the half in :59.1 and three-quarters in 1:27.4 before tripping the teletimer in 1:57.2 over a snowy track. Cigar Hall (Brandon Campbell), the longest shot on the board at odds of 15-1, rallied from last to edge out favourite Mach Of Ballykeel (Jason Brewer) and early leader Eye Of Desire (Aaron Byron) for second-place honours.

The son of Western Maverick and Espirit Seelster is now two-for-four for his new connections, trainer William Robinson and the WGR Stables Inc. of Hagersville, Ont. Encore Seelster has won four of his 32 starts this year while banking $46,983.

Encore Seelster paid $15.10 to win as the 6-1 fourth choice. The win was the fourth on the card for the hot-handed Davis Jr., one of this year's top five drivers in Canada for wins, who also scored with Torrent Seelster ($11.10) in the opener, Hurtin Albertan ($41) in the seventh race, and Hope For Paddy ($6.10) in the ninth race.
