Pathtodover rebuffed a challenge from last Saturday's Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace winner Call Me Yours during her path to the winner's circle on Saturday night at Western Fair Raceway

.

Fresh off a seven length romp in her Dec. 10 conditioning assignment, Pathtodover stepped up to face the top mares at The Raceway and fired off the gate from Post 2 with trainer Doug Bowins in the sulky. She led the field of seven past opening panels of :27.4 and :58 before coming under attack by the reigning class champion.

Call Me Yours and Stuart Sowerby rallied three-deep around the first over Jinglejanglejingle and Trevor Henry, and pushed out in front of Pathtodover as they raced by the third quarter station in 1:26.2.

However, Pathtodover fought back down the stretch and kicked away to score by over two lengths in 1:55.4. Call Me Yours stayed for second while favourite Misty Moonstone and Peter Core finished five lengths back in third.

The six-year-old Straight Path-Armbro Kerchief mare earned her fourth win of the season in 22 starts and pushed her earnings to $32,125. The victory improved her lifetime record to 17-11-7 in 56 outings and lifted her career bankroll over the $100,000 mark for owner-breeder Mario Marcogliese of Dundas, Ont.

Pathtodover paid $9.10 to win as the 7-2 fourth choice.
