Odds-on favourite Cimeronken ($3.80) prevailed from the pocket in the $7,500 Preferred 3 Trot featured at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday night (Dec. 15).

Driven by Ryan Holliday, Cimeronken tracked trotting mare Thundering Ovation through fractions of :28.4, 1:00.2 and 1:29.3 with O U Sexy Guy looming first over. Holliday was able to pull Cimeronken from the pocket in the stretch and the six-year-old Ken Warkentin gelding just got by Thundering Ovation for the victory in 1:59 -- the final margin was just a head. O U Sexy Guy finished nearly three lengths behind in third.

The Daryl Roberts trainee notched his fifth win of the year. Cimeronken now boasts 19 top three finishes from 33 starts this year and earnings of $54,359 for owner/breeder Denise Anderson of Mossley, Ont.
