KHRC To Alter Testing Approach

According to a report, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission today approved a change to its protocol which will see less blood and urine tested

An article by courier-journal.com states that the KHRC currently tests all samples, but has adopted a policy in which samples from the race winners and one other horse will be tested, reportedly saving racetracks 25 to 30 per cent in testing costs.

The report also says that stewards can now ask to have a particular horse tested.
