A group of seven lined up behind the starting gate in Thursday’s $1,400 Open Trot at the Charlottetown Driving Park, with Flashy Image successfully playing a front-end game of 'catch me if you can

.'

Gary Chappell wasted no time hustling Flashy Image to the position of command from Post 3, and once the mare set up shop on the lead it was game over. The five-year-old Nikes Image miss rolled through splits of :30.1, 1:01.1 and 1:33.2 before kicking home in :29.3 to win in 2:03. Finishing 1-3/4 lengths in arrears was runner-up Katies Victory, with Saulsbrook Balance rallying late to take home third prize.

Stacy Lund trains the mare for the PEI partnership of Wilfred and Calvin Smith of Hunter River and Wayne Court of Glasgow. The victory was her fifth of the season and the tenth of her career.
