Undefeated at the Fraser Downs meet, Tahiti Seelster held on to win her fourth straight Mares Open in a five-across finish to the Friday night program.

Driven by Serge Masse in the $12,000 featured finale, 2-5 favourite Tahiti Seelster overcame her outside post assignment as she secured the top spot into a :26.4 opening quarter and led the way to the half in :56.4 with six distaffers stacked behind in single-file fashion.

Mach And Roll Baby made her move at the mid-way mark and progressed first-up from sixth while Tahiti Seelster passed three-quarters in 1:25.2.

With her rivals closing in when she turned for home, Tahiti Seelster managed to find the line just in time for the 1:54 score. G Ts Jamie shot through the passing lane and finished a half-length back in second, while Mach And Roll Baby rallied outside for third, with Big Shir further out and just ahead of No Guarantees on the grandstand side.

A model of consistency this year, Tahiti Seelster has hit the board in all 14 of her starts, including nine winning performances (and four at the current meet). The victory was her 20th lifetime and lifted her bankroll to $146,229.
