P L Quicksand certainly was not trapped in any quicksand as he sped home to take home the victory in the featured $8,000 conditioned pace at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Colin Kelly and the Matthew Dupuis trainee got away fourth off the car and held position through the opening panel in :28.2 before tipping out second over behind favoured Tactical Seelster (Scott Coulter). After the half in :58.4, P L Quicksand made his way up into third on the outside en route to the three-quarters in 1:27.2 while the bettors' choice went on to take command of the lead. As the stretch was covered, P L Quicksand found himself in a battle against Bold Bet (Jason Ryan) and pocket-sitting Oh Coffee Bean (Isaac Waxman). The bid from Tactical Seelster stalled and Oh Coffee Bean wavered, leaving a match race between P L Quicksand and Bold Bet down to the wire. Both put up a last panel in :29.1, but P L Quicksand won by a head at the wire in 1:57. Oh Coffee Bean completed the triactor.

Dupuis owns the three-year-old gelded son of Bettors Delight out of the Sportswriter mare P L Knickers. P L Quicksand earned his third seasonal and third career tally. He paid $11.10 to win at 5-1 odds.
