According to a report, the 12 acres, or 4.8 hectares, of land to the direct east of the now-defunct Sandown Park raceway in North Saanich, BC will now not be re-zoned for commercial and agricultural use

A brief article on cfax1070.com has explained that the Agricultural Land Commission approved a request to exclude the 12 acres of land and instead include 12 acres of municipal land in exchange for the exclusion.
The report also states that the District of North Saanich has anticipated that it will hold a public hearing in regard to the situation early in the New Year.
