Romancing Rachel, in foal to Greenshoe, sold for a six-figure price tag on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 20) to top the 2021 onGait.com Fall Mixed Sale.
Consigned by Blue Chip Farms, the seven-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill out of Tadys Comer was purchased for $125,500 by John Mckinley of Ontario. An eight-time winner with a mark of 1:53.3 and nearly $170,000 in career earnings, Romancing Rachel is a half-sister to millionaire trotter Hez Striking.
Zette Minx, another Muscle Hill mare sold by Blue Chip and in foal to International Moni, brought a high bid of $56,500 from Ken Walker of Walker Standardbreds, Illinois.
A total of 68 broodmares, weanlings, stallion breedings and shares were sold for a gross of $814,900 or an average of $11,983.
