The Brandon Campbell stable was hot despite the cold, below zero temperatures for opening weekend at Northlands Park, as his Saturday starters went three-for-three on the card.
The Calgary horseman's Saturday winners were Dontmesswithjim ($14.70), Eliseuinthedust ($4.20) and Captain Hazardous ($3.70).
With the training triple, Campbell now has 62 wins on the year -- a new career-high, passing the 61 wins he recorded in 2008. It's also a career-year for earnings as his stable has banked $363,774 in purses so far.
Campbell was a winner in half of the evening's eight races, as he also drove Im Gracies Wigwam ($5.40) to victory for his father, trainer Sanford Campbell.
He is scheduled to race in B.C. on Sunday at Fraser Downs.
