Seventh heading into the final turn, Jeffery P roared wide through the lane to spring the 22-1 upset in Monday’s feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 conditioned trot.

Rising MVP reached the front with an uncovered backside move but couldn’t hold off the rallying Jeffery P once Brady Brown got him into gear. The five-year-old Full Count-Betty Jean gelding triumphed in 1:56, 1-1/4 lengths better than Mind Yown Business, with Workinitonbroadway third.

Miles Wollam trains Jeffery P, who pushed his lifetime bankroll to $171,397, and owns with Renna Wollam, Dennis Osterholt and Bob Troy.

It was one of three wins for Brown on the 13-race card while Anthony MacDonald and trainer Tim Twaddle teamed for a triple.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the 13-race program features a $101,369.67 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5 as well as a $1,589.05 carryover in the Pick 5 (race 8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
