Arties Ideal demonstrated why he's banked more than $600,000 in his career, delivering as the 4-5 favourite in the $9,000 featured against conditioned company on the 10-race Flamboro card on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
Saddled with post six, driver Travis Henry wasted no time getting Arties Ideal to the front end, blasting to the front of the field with a hot :27.2 opening quarter. Arties Ideal was able to catch a breather in the second quarter, tapping the brakes to the half in an unchallenged :56.4. Arties Ideal began to assert himself on the front end in the third quarter, opening up by just over two lengths ahead Wilcat Rocky and Brett MacDonald who had sat the pocket throughout through three-quarters in 1:25.2.
Arties Ideal remained strong on the lead, maintaining a measured lead of a length-and-a-half at the top of the lane while Wilcat Rocky faced pressure from Yourtheone and Travis Cullen for second. Arties Ideal powered home with a :28 final quarter to maintain the length-and-a-half margin to the wire in 1:53.2. Wilcat Rocky held for place, with Yourtheone finishing third. Arties Ideal paid $3.90 for the victory.
The victory was the second in the last three tries and sixth of the season for the Kyle Fellows-trained Arties Ideal, who has gone postward 28 times in 2023. The seven-year-old son of American Ideal-Midnight Art sports a career bankroll of $605,220 for owners Hutt Racing Stable.
