Seven talented trotters reported for duty in Monday’s $38,000 Preferred at Woodbine Racetrack, and Andover America proved to be too much for the competition to handle once again

.

A winner in the class on October 31 for Team Baillargeon, Andover America floated off the gate and tucked into the five-hole while Define The World sprinted to the lead and threw down an opening quarter clocked in a :26-second clip. He continued to steamroll the field to the mid-way point in :54.2, and at that point Andover America was called on by driver Mario Baillargeon to begin a first-over rally.

Define The World was still the leader at the three-quarter pole in 1:24, but Friendly Amigo was out and challenging after sitting on the leader’s back throughout the early stages of the mile. Andover America caught that one’s cover coming out of the final turn before angling into the centre of the racetrack and using a :28.3 closing panel to seal the deal. Windsong Geant rallied from last to grab the runner-up award in the seven-horse affair, with Kashs Caviar finishing third.

Ben Baillargeon conditions the six-year-old son of Andover Hall-Armbro Array, who won for the 40th time in his career, for Mc Trade Enterprises Inc of Davie, FL. The victory improved the gelding’s 2011 record to 11-6-3 from 24 starts and the lion’s share of the purse lifted his lifetime earnings to $467,421.
