Wanna Get Lucky Tops Fourth Session

The fourth session of the 2013 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale took place on Friday night at the Fasig-Tipton Sale Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky and Wanna Get Lucky garnered the highest bid of the day.

Wanna Get Lucky, Hip 497, was purchased for $95,000 by Deo Volente Farms of Flemington, New Jersey. Consigned by agent Kentuckiana Farms, the filly is from the first crop of Lucky Chucky and is out of Ucalthisahoneymoon, who is a full sister to multiple stakes winner Falls For You (1:52.2 - $1,326,357).

Daut Full was scooped up by Tony Alagna of Steger, Illinois for $75,000. Selling as Hip 502 from the Hunterton Sales Agency consignment, the filly is sired by Art Major and out of Thereal Ideal. Daut Full's dam is a full sister to 2006 Simcoe Stakes winner West Side Glory, whose first two foals were See You At Peelers (1:49.2 - $1,566,900) and Live Entertainment (1:52.1 - $228,102). Daut Full is a half-sister to 2009 Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Championship winner Lyons Anitacol (1:54.2 - $187,410).

Only My Way, Hip 539, was the third highest priced yearling of the session, selling for $70,000. Richard Berthiaume Inc. of Montreal, Que. purchased the Conway Hall colt who is the first foal out of If And Only If from agent Penninsula Farm Inc.

A total of 156 yearlings were sold during Friday's auction for over $3.3 million resulting in an average price of $21,423. During last year's fourth session, 145 yearlings were sold for over $2.45 million producing an average price of $16,931.

The fifth and final session of the sale will be held on Saturday night at 7 p.m. featuring Hips 599 - 716.
