Returning Stallions Qualify Again

After qualifying impressively last week at Mohawk Racetrack, standout standardbreds Daylon Magician and Santanna Blue Chip were back on track on Wednesday morning.

In last week's qualifier, Santanna Blue Chip did all the work en route to a 1:56.3 score. This week, Jody Jamieson had the Art Major stallion sit the pocket until the final the final turn before pulling the pocket and pacing home in :28.1 to record a 1:55 mile.

Jeff Gillis trains Santanna Blue Chip and is racing him under lease. The eight-year-old Breeders Crown winning millionaire is officially owned by the Santanna Blue Chip Syndicate of Lucan, Ont.

Also lowering his seasonal speed badge on Wednesday morning was Daylon Magician The son of Kadabra and driver Jack Moiseyev romped in 1:56.1 last week and improved on that with a 1:54.3 qualifier, 14 lengths better than their closest competitor.

Back in the care of trainer and owner David Lemon, five-year-old Daylon Magician won the 2011 Canadian Trotting Classic and O'Brien Award during his million-dollar sophomore season.
