Steacy Signs For Session 3 Topper

Dancin Inthe Nude was the first yearling to step foot into the ring during Thursday’s third session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion, and she wound up being the session’s topper.

Catalogued as Hip 267, Dancin Inthe Nude was purchased for $110,000 by Mark Steacy. The daughter of Sportswriter-Dancewiththebest, who was part of the Walnut Hall Ltd. consignment, is a half-sister to Dancin Yankee (1:47.2 - $900,962) and the full-sister to OSS star, Dancin Caroll (Q1:55.1 - $82,725).

Hip 355 Catch Twenty Two went to agent Myron Bell for $100,000. The son of Roll With Joe-Make Me Blush, who was consigned by Brittany Farms, is the third foal out of a sister to Hide Me Away (1:51.1 - $113,688).

Hip 282 Fools Cruise, a son of Yankee Cruiser-Fool For You, was purchased for $90,000 by Don Swick. Consigned by Preferred Equine, the colt is a half-brother to NYSS graduate Deny Deny Deny (1:53.3 - $141,550).

Hip 340 Tartufo Lindy also sold for $90,000. The son of Conway Hall-Peace A Pie, who was consigned by Preferred Equine Inc., went to the Andy Miller Stable Inc. He’s a full-brother to the multi-talented Pizza Dolce (1:52.2 - $668,824). That mare’s foal, Bene Bene, was the co-topper during Tuesday’s opening session.

A total of 165 yearlings were sold during the Thursday night session for a total of $5,455,000, producing an average of nearly $33,061. Last year's average price for the third session was $34,050.

The sale, which coincides with The Red Mile's Grand Circuit meet, continues on Friday night at 7 p.m. featuring Hips 433-571 and runs though Saturday, October 4.
