Helios Lindy Tops Third Session

The 2013 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale continued on Thursday night at the Fasig-Tipton Sale Pavilion in Lexington, Kentucky with Helios Lindy topping the third session, selling at a price of $105,000.

Helios Lindy, who sold as Hip 368, was purchased by agent Jeff Gillis for Mac Nichol of Burlington, Ontario. The American Ideal colt is the third foal out of Sunshine Sister – a sister to Doubleshotascotch (1:51 - $641,417).

Five yearlings fetched finals bids of $100,000, and they were:

Lush Art (Hip 307) going to Ray Remmen of East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Art Major-Lush Limbaugh colt is a half brother to Yankee Lariat (1:50.4 - $421,560) and Word Power (1:49.4 - $235,802).

Southwind Wildfire (Hip 316) was purchased by agent Bernie Noren for Courant AB of Sweden and M Langli of New Jersey. The Muscle Hill colt is just the second foal out of the mare Wafs.

Artspeak (Hip 317) was purchased by agent John Fodera of Staten Island, New York. He signed the slip on the Western Ideal-The Art Museum colt who is a half brother to Champlain Stakes runner-up Fort Knox (Q1:53 - $40,699) and a full brother to the New Jersey Sires Stakes winner Acquavella (1:53.3 - $32,697).

Think Again (Hip 362) went to agent Nancy Johansson for Courant AB of Halmstad, Sweden. The Art Major-Remember When colt is a brother to three with marks of 1:56 or better including Memory Game (1:55.3 - $41,040).

Eagle Feather (Hip 416) went to K J Stables LLC of Baldwinsville, New York. The son of Bettors Delight-Town Feather has a trio siblings with marks of 1:52 or better including this year’s George Morton Levy Memorial winner Razzle Dazzle (1:49 - $1,005,819) and Ramalama (1:51 - $295,247).

A total of 157 yearlings were sold during the third session for over $5.3 million, resulting in an average price of $34,050. Last year's third session in Lexington saw 154 yearlings go through the sales ring for more than $4 million to produce an average price of $25,977.

The sale continues on Friday night at 7 p.m. featuring Hips 437-594.
